ABOUT ME

I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California - Davis, where I worked with cosmological simulations to better understand our corner of the Universe. Check below for some of my research interests, here for a more in depth explanation of what I'm currently working on and to look at some papers I've helped contribute to, or here to understand what the rest of my group works on in Davis!

I currently work at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher where I model how to mitigate potential (hypothetical) asteroid impacts with x-ray ablation models from nuclear devices. Stay tuned for figures and movies about this project soon!

I also like to take pictures on my phone from time to time. Click here if you're into that sort of thing.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Planetary Defense

I'm interested in studying how the effects of nuclear ablation help to mitigate potential asteroid impacts with Earth!

EDUCATION

2016 - 2023

University of California - Davis

Ph.D. Physics

Dwarf Galaxy Orbital Histories

I'm also interested in developing new models to determine what the orbital histories are for satellite dwarf galaxies around the Milky Way and Andromeda!

Metal-Poor Disk

I'm currently investigating the occurrence of metal-poor stars on prograde orbits within the disks of MW-mass galaxies!

2013 - 2016

University of New Mexico

B.S. Astrophysics

2011 - 2013

Central New Mexico Community College

Galaxy Formation

I'm interested in when galaxies like our own, the Milky Way, formed. I use large cosmological simulations to investigate this!
